The People’s United Party says they are kicking their campaign into full gear and for good reason too, because sources have indicated to us that the general elections might be called by the end of this year. According to a press release sent this morning from the PUP’s office, party held its 2015 campaign planning on Sunday March 29th at Leslie’s Farm at on the George Price highway with a full day working session where one hundred and twenty five persons participated. Persons who attended were members of the National Executive, Standard Bearers, parliamentarians, businesspersons, members of the constituency executive committee and other supporters of the People’s united party.
According to the party leader Francis Fonseca, “the objective of this full-day event was to hear frank views as to the challenges facing the party, as well as to receive recommendations, arising after vigorous debate, as to the strategies required in taking the party to victory.”
In the wake of their devastating loss at the municipal elections the party seemed to have hit rock bottom and some were suggesting a change of leadership. That did not happen as so the People’s united party marches into the general elections, whenever it is called, with Francis Fonseca at the helm, hoping to be the next Prime Minister of Belize.
