PUP wants Election observers for general elections

The People’s United Party wants independent  observers for the upcoming  general elections. On Monday,  September 28, the Prime Minister announced that election day would be held on the 4th of November. On that same day, the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Francis Fonseca, sent the Prime Minister a letter insisting that Electoral observers be invited to witness the election process. The leader of the PUP says that the vlcsnap-2015-10-01-10h34m10s230calling of Electoral observers is important because the decision to have elections on November 4th came only a few weeks after the close of the annual transfer period for Electors and came before the beginning of the annual revision of the electoral lists. Fonseca says in the letter that the Election date is so close, that it will not allow for the electoral list to be revised for 2015. Fonseca went on to say that he anticipates the Prime Minister to invite the OAS, the commonwealth, or CARICOM to be present in Belize to be Independent Monitors for this General Election.
