Basketball Players and fans living in the City of Belmopan are to enjoy newly refurbished basketball facilities. As a part of an ongoing project to upgrade various sporting facilities around the city, the Area Representative for Belmopan, Hon. John Saldivar, an avid sports fanatic, has embarked on a venture to give four basketball courts around Belmopan some needed upgrade. Upgrades include a full renovation of courts and rims and the addition of canopies.
Works started in mid December of last year on the Mauvelene Gordon Park on Humming Bird Avenue, and has moved to the Hilltop Basketball court on North Ring Road. The Hilltop Basketball Court is expected to be completed in the next 5 to 6 months, after which it will become the home for Belmopan Bandits Basketball Club Red Tigaz.
Similar works will also be done on the basketball courts at Our Lady of Guadalupe High School and the Belmopan Comprehensive High School.
