Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexis Rosado is to be the new Beliezan Ambassador to Guatemala. With his crossing the border to Guatemala, there is a bit of a reshuffle of the executive division of the Government, with Prime Minister Barrow shifting one CEO into Mr Rosado’s position, and filling the resulting vacancy with another long-time public servant. CEO in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Lawrence Sylvestre, returns to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was once CEO.
“As a consequence of his leaving his post as CEO of Foreign Affairs, there’s a need for a replacement and I will ask CEO Lawrence Silvestre, who’s currently at Housing, to move over to Foreign Affairs. So, Lawrence Sylvestre will be the new CEO for Foreign Affairs. Lawrence, as you no doubt well know, was at Foreign Affairs previously, also High Commissioner to the U.K. [He is] somebody who knows the Foreign Ministry inside out, in whom I have absolute confidence.”
Lawrence Sylvestre will be replaced by Denton Belisle, a former Belmopan City Administrator and Government representative on the Social Security and Port Authority Boards.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“That means that the position he leaves, as CEO [in the] Ministry of Housing, has to be filled, and I will appoint Mr Denton Belisle to be the new CEO in the Ministry of Housing. Denton was one time CEO at the Social Security Board. He was also in the Diplomatic Service of this country, [and] was High Commissioner in the U.K. The fact is he had a great deal of Public Service experience, and I believe will also do well in the Ministry of Housing.”
