Road Traffic Accident leads to drug bust

A road traffic accident led to a drug trafficking arrest. On Friday 5th February 2016, at around 12:15 a.m., police visited a “Road Traffic Accident” between miles 16 and 17 on the Phillip Goldson Highway where they saw 34-year-old Roland Rivers of a Belize City address sitting in a Burgundy Ford Escape parked on the side of the road. The vehicle was extensively damaged.  While processing the scene, police checked inside the vehicle and discovered a large black plastic bag containing 14 pounds or 6.4 kilograms of Cannabis. The traffic accident victim Roland Rivers was then arrested and charged for the offence of “Drug Trafficking”.
