vlcsnap-2013-07-16-18h56m09s19655 year old Romonio Garcia was found guilty of use of deadly means of harm with intent to cause grievous harm. This is after he chopped off five of a man’s  fingers after disputing over a woman while drinking together. According to reports. Alfredo Herrera went to visit Garcia at his home.  The two began to drink and at around 3:30 that evening, Herrera made a comment about Garcia’s wife.  That is when Garcia grabbed a machete and attacked Herrera, chopping him twice, once to the left hand, instantly severing four of his fingers and partially severing the fifth finger.  Back in 2011, Garcia was initially charged with maim upon Alfredo Herrera but he was later indicted only for use of deadly means of harm during trial.   The victim in this case was not able to come to court because he died from unrelated injuries. However, the prosecutor was able to get Alfredo Herrera’s statement into evidence. The jury’s voted 8 to 1 that Garcia was guilty. Justice Adolph Lucas has deferred sentencing for next week Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.
