Salvador Hit Salvadoran, didn’t survive

According authorities at about 9:26 pm on Friday March 13th, Independence Police responded to a traffic accident on the Southern Highway in the Bella Vista Village, Stann Creek District. Upon arrival police observed a grey Toyota 4-Runner SUV, on the road side and a blue beach cruiser bicycle lying about 13 feet away. Initial police investigations revealed that 40 year old Salvador Ack of Bella Vista village, was driving from Bella Vista towards Trio Village when the accident occurred. Ack told police that upon reaching the 45 mile post on the highway, he noticed a Hispanic man, later identified as Faustino Orellana, on a blue bicycle riding in the same direction on the right hand side of the road. Orellana, according to what Salvador Ack told authorities, veered left in front of him and as a result he could not avoid hitting him. 47 year old Faustino Orellana, Salvadoran laborer of Bella Vista was taken to the Independence Poly-Clinic and was pronounced dead on arrival. Salvador Ack has since been served with a Notice of Indented Prosecution.
