According to reports, Belizean resident of San Pedro Town Lorena Montero was brutally stabbed sometime around 1:20 pm on Wednesday, May 14th, inside her business establishment, Henry’s Store, located at the corner of Swan and Glitter Streets in San Pedro town.
One eyewitness said that shortly before the incident she saw Montes being followed at a short distance by another woman as Montes made her way back to her establishment. She further stated that the woman approached Montes inside her establishment where an argument ensued.
San Pedro Sun quoted an eyewitness saying that “I saw a young lady walk through Lorena’s store door way, politely pulled out a knife from out of her purse, then barged into the store and stabbed her. She got at least six stab wounds; three in the back, one of which we were told punctured her lung, and the others to her head. She was stabbed in front of her children who were out of school for lunch,”
Police have since detained one woman of San Pedro Town. However police have not been able to determine the motive of the brutal stabbing, though a conflict between their under aged children coupled with a long standing dispute is believed to have played a major role in inciting the bloody incident.
