ASP Reymundo Reyes, Deputy Commander, Cayo Police Formation: San Ignacio Police lay charges on two persons today for the crimes of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. One of the persons charged is Brandon Anderson, a nineteen year old resident of Loma Luz Boulevard, Santa Elena town, as well as a minor from Santa Elena. They were both charged jointly and were arraigned this morning in front of the San Ignacio Magistrate Court.
While no weapon has been found as yet, police say they believe they have a good case against the two. Reyes told us why.
ASP Reymundo Reyes, Deputy Commander, Cayo Police Formation: We have statements that were recorded. We have confession statements from each one of them. And we also have some sort of evidence that we gathered at the scene during the investigation which we could link to the murder of Mr. Klinck. After consultation with our legal advisor, and with the Management team that investigated. We know that we have evidence surrounding the matter and that we could have laid charges against both persons and that’s why today we concluded by charging them. We believe that robbery was the motive for the murder, reason being that we recovered cash as evidence which will be presented at the end of the day in Court. We have evidence where one of the accused was seen going to the residence of the gentleman on the day we believe he was murdered
The duo appeared before Magistrate Albert Hoare this morning in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court and were remanded until April 12, 2016.
