Shadir Marin granted supreme court bail

Tonight, 25 year old Manager, Shadir Marin, who runs San Pedro Water Express is out on bail of $7,000 which was granted to him this afternoon by Supreme Court judge, Justice Troadio “John” Gonzalez in the Belize City Supreme Court.  Marin had been accused by a local disc jockey of assaulting him with a firearm, and since the offense is an automatic jail time, he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
The bail application, one which was expeditiously dealt with within a day’s work, was just filed yesterday morning, minutes after his court arraignment. As we told you, this incident with Marin happened months ago and the person assaulted went to the media to say tht police were dragging their feet in laying charges. Months later, the charges were read, yesterday and while he was remanded to prison until July 20 but after one night in bail, Marin was able to go home.
