Smart is up in arms over a DigiCell advertisement that was placed in UDP’s Guardian propaganda paper, the Guardian.  According to a statement from Smart, in the most recent edition of the Guardian Newspaper, dated Sunday, October 25, 2015, DigiCell placed a full page ad which compared Smart’s and DigiCell’s Postpaid Plans. The release says, vlcsnap-2015-10-26-20h02m31s20

“In an unethical and seemingly desperate attempt to misinform and deceive the general public this ad showcased a series of BOGUS Smart Plans.”

Smart says that in advertising, there is a big difference between pushing the truth and making false claims and Smart is affronted that DigiCell would intentionally provide misleading information to customers. The Smart release says,

“We appeal to DigiCell to do the honourable thing and apologize to the public and to Smart for this deliberate misrepresentation of the facts. Furthermore, we emphatically request that they adhere to ethical advertising standards in the future. “
