There are new revelations regarding the investigative audit conducted at the Southern Regional Hospital. The Auditor General was enrolled by the Ministry of Health to conduct an audit at the hospital, following reports of suspected irregular activities. Over the three years, it is reported that about four hundred thousand dollars were withdrawn from the Maternal and Child Health Bank account, but the hospital administration has no record of ever seeing these monies. The woman at the center of the controversy, Hospital Administrator Nasley Sommerville was placed on suspension after it was alleged that she withdrew at least three cheques in a total sum of $7,060.00, accusations that she denied. PlusNews has been informed that Nasley Sommerville showed up for work on Monday, but was promptly escorted home and informed that her suspension has been extended for another 30 days on half-salary. As we previously reported, the Police Department was also called in to investigate the allegations against Nasley Sommerville.
