Still no proof Guatemalans killed Danny Conorquie, only strong suspicion

The security of Police Officers stationed at Caracol has now come under scrutiny, since Danny Conorquie was shot at the hands of Guatemalans at the National Archaeological Site.

The Leader of the Opposition, Hon.  Francis Fonseca spoke about the issue of border security and integrity at Friday’s sitting.

For the first time since the incident, members of Government have said that they believe the perpetrators to be Guatemalan. The Prime Minister said so as well as the Minister of National Security. In fact, the Minister of National Security says they are sure that the killers escaped to Guatemala. He told the National Assembly about the developments in their investigation.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow also addressed the matter, saying that his Ministry, the Ministry of Finance, is always open to providing the Ministry of National  Security with the equipment they need. He says what is really necessary, is a helicopter, as Belize has none. He said he will be looking into acquiring one for easier access to remote  border areas.
