vlcsnap-2013-08-15-07h31m22s111A teenager who is a second form student is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after he was accused and charged with two criminal offenses; burglary and handling stolen goods. He is 19-year-old Salvadoran national, Carlos David Beltran.  Beltran appeared before Magistrate Leslie Hamilton Wednesday evening .  Allegations are that between August 6- 12, 2013, Beltran entered as a trespasser into a home on Eve Street from which he stole a 32-inch flat screen television , stereo, laptop computer and other items.  But after the facts were read out to him, Beltran who was unrepresented in court, told magistrate Hamilton that while he entered the house, it was not him who went into the room and stole the items. It was another man.  Since he is not a Belizean, the magistrate told him with no ties to Belize, he could not grant him bail. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 13, when his case will go to trial.
