Taiwan Gifts two Helicopters to Belize; Assembling Completed

On April 5th 2016, a seventeen-member assembling team comprised of engineers, technicians, mechanics and two pilots from the Army of the Republic of China (Taiwan), led by Colonel Ao, Cheng – lin, arrived in Belize. The team was dispatched by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to assemble the two UH-1H helicopters gifted to the Belize Defence Force by the Republic of China (Taiwan). Shortly after its arrival, the team embarked on the assembling works at B.D.F. headquarters. The assembling works were completed by April 18th, 2016. H.E. Ambassador Benjamin Ho of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) visited B.D.F. on the morning of April 18th to take a test ride on the second helicopter upon the completion of its assembling and  Commander of B.D.F., Brig. Gen. David Jones, had taken test ride on first helicopter the week before. The official  handing-over ceremony is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 when the Government of Belize will receive the two helicopters from H.E.
