Teacher found dead in his Belize City home

vlcsnap-2014-07-26-05h58m15s102Police are currently investigating what appears to be the murder of 28 year old Stephen John Michael, a teacher at 7th Day Adventist School. According to police reports, at around 7:12 am on July 25th, police visited #7685 corner of Jaguar and Tapir Streets in Belize City where they saw the body of a male person lying face down in his bed and bleeding from the nose. Stolen from his house were his television, wallet and cell phone. Our colleagues at KREM spoke to Michael’s cousin today.

I knew Stephen not as a trouble person. He’s the best guy ever, always willing to talk to you about all  your problems. He lost his mom about a year now, and this really hurts my heart a lot to see what happened.

The body was then transported to the KHMH where it was pronounced dead on arrival. A post mortem examination is in order. No one has been detained and according to police, foul play is suspected.  Reports are conflicting as at least one investigator claims that it may be a case of sudden death.  Just last week, a street preacher was stabbed and killed in the yard of a Seventh Day Adventist Church for no apparent reason.
