Teenage girl allegedly sexually assaulted by Ladyville couple

A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a young Ladyville couple. The couple allegedly took the 14 year old  on a trip to Cayo some three days ago and then took her to their home in Lord’s Bank. That is where they allegedly gave her marijuana to smoke. The acts allegedly committed against the child are heinous and both the man and woman are accused of taking their turns performing sexual acts on the child. A doctor, who examined the minor, certified that she was carnally known and classified her injuries as grievous harm. 30-year-old Construction Worker, John Williams, and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Stacie Leslie both appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. They were charged with different offenses for their alleged roles involving the minor.  The first to be arraigned was the girlfriend, who was slapped with a single count of aggravated assault of an indecent nature upon the minor.  In court, no plea was taken from Stacie Leslie in regards to the single charge. She was offered bail in the sum of  $1,000 but she was ordered  to pay $200 immediately in cash, the balance of $800 in a signed surety.  In the case of her boyfriend, John Williams, no bail was granted.   He was charged with a single count of unlawful carnal knowledge.  John Williams was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until his next court appearance on October 29th. Stacie Leslie is also to return to court on that date.
