Teenager charged for attempted murder

Teenage bus conductor Jaron Baptist has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm against Liston Myers, one of three men targeted early Sunday morning on Antelope Street Extension. 18 year old Baptist appeared in court today and was remanded by Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer until January 26, 2015. As he will be tried on indictment in the Supreme Court, no vlcsnap-2015-11-25-10h48m14s603plea was taken. According to police reports, Myers was walking in the company of another man when they were shot at by two male persons carrying firearms. Myers was shot and is listed in stable condition at the KHMH recovering from his injury. Police say that they believe Myers was not the intended target but rather his companion, a known figure and reported gang associate. Police say their investigations continue as they are seeking a second man in connection with this attempted killing of Liston Myers.
