32-year-old Jevon Levi Slusher is serving his second night of a 10 year sentence after he was found guilty of kept firearm and ammunition. His trial took place before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith late yesterday evening where at the end, he was found guilty.
Allegations were that he was seen by the police on Jane Usher Boulevard throwing an object into a nearby bushy area and when the police retrieved the object, it was a black 9 mm Glock Pistol loaded with 3 live rounds of 9 mm. ammunitions.
When asked why he had the weapon that day, Mr. Slusher replied that one must always be strapped because of the many crimes. The young man was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years behind bars on each count.
The chief ordered the sentences to run concurrently hence he will only serve 10. Slusher had a previous conviction from 2006 when he was found guilty of the same offenses. He was then sentenced to 5 years.
