According to reports, upon reaching Chuc’s Gas Station, Obando’s vehicle overturned. Acting Officer in Command of San Ignacio Police Station told us more:
“He put on his left signal indicating that he was going to take a left turn. At that time, he made checks and saw no oncoming vehicle on the opposite direction or behind him. When doing the turn, all of a sudden, another vehicle appeared besides him and the vehicle ran into the left side of his vehicle, causing damages to the drivers door. His vehicle also spin numerous times, causing the vehicle to land outside”.
According to police, Obando was accompanied at the time by his girlfriend who received minor injuries. 30 year old Eli Eleazar Obando was charged with driving without due care and attention, failure to give way, and negligent harm.
The driver of the other vehicle was charged with two counts of negligent harm, driving with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit and driving without due care and attention.
