A thief made off with some $70 thousand dollars worth of Embassy money yesterday. According to reports, the driver for the Embassy of the Republic of China(Taiwan) was robbed yesterday, July 6th, while exiting Belize Bank on Albert Street. According to reports, the driver was about to exit the parking lot of the bank after a routine run to the bank when he was approached by a male person who placed a gun to his face and demanded the money. Fearing for his life, the driver handed over an envelope containing $70,000 to the robber. The robber then hopped on a bicycle nearby and escaped. The money in the envelope was property of the Taiwan Embassy. Police continue to investigate this matter.
