Three men were travelling in a taxi in Orange Walk yesterday and were heading to a nearby village when they were busted with over a thousand grams of cocaine. According to reports, Orange Walk Police had set up a vehicle check point between miles 68 and 69 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, which lead them to search a gold Toyota Corolla vehicle with green license plates. As a result of the search, police discovered 1,200 grams of cocaine which was hidden inside the right passenger seat. The substance was taken to the station where it was labeled as exhibit. Present at the time of the search were Jorghino Chan, a 20 year old Belizean taxi Driver of Orange Walk Town, Luis Chavez, a 38 year old Belizean Fisherman of San Martin Area, Belmopan, and Jose Valladarez a 26 year old Belizean Labourer of Armenia village, Cayo. All three men were arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
