Police in the South have arrested two persons for the murder of San Benito Poite resident, 36 year old Francisco Ack. The two Belizean farmers were arraigned today for the murder of Ack who was killed while walking home after church on Saturday the 18th of June. On the following day, the 19th of June at around 2:00 a.m., Ack’s body was found in some nearby bushes by police. Ack had been severely chopped multiple times to his head, neck, back and right shoulder. Today, we spoke to Officer in charge of Punta Gorda police Station, Assistant Superintendent Clement Cacho who told us about the arrest.

“In terms of the chopping death of Francisco Ack that occurred on the 18th of June 2016, Punta Gorda police have arrested and charged 2 male persons by the name of Gilberto Coc and David Tosh. They were formally arraigned before the court and have been remanded into custody until the 17th of August 2016.”
OC Cacho did not wish to discuss the motive which he only described as a “sensitive matter” to be left for the court’s attention.
