Two naturalized Belizeans are charged, in separate incidences, for hiring persons without a work permit. Both cases were heard by Magistrate Adolph Lucas. The first, fifty three year old Dora Licia de Maria Prado, the owner of Dora Noa Noa Bar in the Ladyville area, reportedly employed three Guatemalan nationals who did not have work permits. After pleading not guilty, she was offered bail of a thousand dollars along with a thousand dollars surety. She is due back in court later this month. Meanwhile, Jose David Linares, a forty-seven year old contractor, is facing the same charge, after he reportedly employed a Guatemalan national, who again did not possess a work permit. He too met bail at a thousand dollars and is to return to court in April.
