Two charged for King’s Park home invasion

vlcsnap-2016-08-29-10h23m49s201In mid-July there was a home invasion in the King’s Park area where an elderly senior citizen in the company of her daughter and her boyfriend were held at gun point. The gun man raided the home, taking the home owner’s safe containing all her valuable jewellery worth over $17,000 and 20 thousand US dollars in cash. Police have arrested and charged 23 year old Trevor Guy with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault with a firearm upon Salvador Garcia. In court, Guy pleaded not guilty to both charges, however, due to the nature of the offenses which is alleged to have occurred with the use of a firearm, no bail could be granted and Guy was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 27, 2016. 20 year old Victor Franklin, police say, was not involved in the home invasion; however he was found with two pieces of Maria Sylvestre’s jewellery, specifically gold rings. He was charged with handling stolen goods. Franklin has retained Senior Counsel Hubert Elrington and met bail of $1,500.   Guy and Franklin return to court on October 27, 2016.
