Two men were detained in Camalote Village yesterday for being in possession of counterfeit 100 dollar bills. According to 22 year old Delmi Cruz, cashier at La Posada bar located in Young Bank Road Camalote, sometime around 11 a.m., a male person walked into the establishment and ordered two beers and paid with a $100.00 Belize. Cruz contacted police when she discovered that the $100.00 note was not genuine. Plus News understands that police launched an investigation and detained two young men of Young Bank Road, Camalote. A search on both men reportedly led to the discovery of two additional counterfeit 100 dollar notes and 50 dollar notes. Police are asking the general public to be on the lookout for counterfeit currencies.
