Two men arrested for murder of Kevin Taylor

There was a murder in Unitedville on Friday October 10th.

Kevin Andrew Taylor Jr was stabbed twice; once to the heart and once to the back.

According to eye witnesses, Andrew Taylor and two other men were socializing outside a shop owned by Thomas Mendoza, when the three of them had a brief exchange of words. One of those men left and went to another group of guys in the neighboring yard.  They called for Kevin to come over and witnesses said he went over running and soon after that he came back walking slowly saying he got stabbed in his heart. He fell between the two yards and people from the shop went over and took him to the hospital.

Inspector Reymundo Reyes told us about the police investigation into the matter.

“On Friday October 10th, 2014, sometime after ten, ten-thirty p.m. information was received of a person being stabbed in Unitedville. 

As a result, San Ignacio Police visited the said village where on arrival they received certain information, and they visited an open lot located behind M&H Shop which belongs to Mr. Samuel Mendoza.  But nothing incriminating was found there. 

Information was that one Kevin Taylor had been transported to Belmopan with stab wounds to the left side of the chest and a cut wound to his back. 

Later on Belmopan police informed San Ignacio that the person had succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. 

vlcsnap-2014-10-15-06h38m07s68vlcsnap-2014-10-15-06h38m22s188As a result, two persons were detained for questioning and on Monday the thirteenth, Brian Belle, twenty-five-years-old, and Tyrone Gongora Rushford, thirty-two-years-old of Black Man Eddy Village, were charged for the crime of murder, for the murder of Mr. Kevin Andrew Taylor Jr.”


On Monday, police arrested and charged jointly 27-year-old Brian Bell of Unitedville, Cayo, and 32-year-old Tyron Rushford Gongora of Blackman Eddy Village, Cayo,  for the murder of Kevin Taylor. Both have since been remanded to the Hattieville prison until their court date.
