It was born on August 1, of the year 2000 and has since been training students and developing a wide range of opportunities for them.  UB proudly represents Belize as its national tertiary institution. We spoke to Selwyn King the Office of Public Information’s Director in UB who told us more about the university’s work and the recognition that it has received over the past 13 years.

The university has been recognized for its leadership role in terms of training the leaders of tomorrow,  that they will inherit  this society, in order to shape and transform the society within the global environments.

We asked Mr King about his expectation of the institution in the next 13 years.

Selwyn King – Director of Public Information at UB:

vlcsnap-2013-08-02-11h25m33s239This institution will continue to grow.  We have achieved a mile-stone in terms of the seven thousand six hundred and fifty-eight graduates, that we have graduated since the amalgamation.  I think we need to be commended for that, because these graduates are out there in the work-field.

Orientation for incoming students has been taking place since Monday.
