ASP Alejandro Cowo. NCIB:

Police responded to a shooting incident at about 7:40pm on Tuesday 2nd of January 2018 at Doris Bishop Street. Upon arrival they visited an elevated home. A white in color elevated house, where on the steps they saw the motionless body of a male person who was identified as Jermain Ryan Vellos. Police was able to observe that he had multiple gunshot wounds to the body and also information was received that a female was at the KHMH with gunshot injuries. Her name was learned to be Stephanie Vellos. She had received a gunshot injury to the right hand and to the right thigh. She has been treated and discharged from the KHMH. Also on the scene police found several expended shells. vlcsnap-2018-01-03-18h44m03s555The scene was processed and the family up to now we have been in contact with them and we are getting cooperation from the family. The police at this moment is seeking a person in question.

Some are led to believe that this murder was an act of revenge. One of Vellos’ family members allegedly has a close connection to the Pink’s Alley Gang, who is in an ongoing rivalry with the Victoria Street Gang. The family member also has an uncanny resemblance to Jermaine, even wearing the same dread hairstyle. So could this have been just a case of mistaken identity? The police certainly think so. vlcsnap-2018-01-05-17h18m03s477

ASP Alejandro Cowo. NCIB:

So far the investigation has shown certain things that we cannot devolve at this moment. However, yes we are of the opinion that it can possibly be a mistaken identity that led to the tragic death of Mr. Vellos.

The police are currently looking for one person in connection to this incident.
