Mytheon Solutions; the existence of this company was brought up by the Former Prime Minister, Hon. Said Musa, at the budget debate last week in reference to comments by Area Representative for Belmopan Hon. John Saldivar’s as he announced his favored candidate for Mayor of Belmopan, Khalid Belisle.
While it is known for Ministers on either side of the House to make pointing accusations at each other, this talk about Mytheon caught our attention as it made reference to, not just selling BTL credits, but allegedly, the forcible selling of telephone credits to all entities under the Minister of National Security’s jurisdiction.
Let’s revisit what the former Prime Minister said:
“I would like to comment about what the member for Belmopan recently said in this honourable House. It ended up with calling a name, Khalid Belisle. He is candidate for mayor in Belmopan. Perhaps he would tell us what in the earth Khalid Belisle is a partner in a certain company called Mytheon. This company Mytheon controls all the BTL credits that the company then sells to all the police officers, BDF, Coast Guards, and besides Mr. Khalid Belisle, perhaps the Minister of Belmopan would tell us who is the other partner in this Mytheon…or is it too close to home?”
According to the records of Belize Companies and Corporate Affairs Registry, Mytheon Solutions was registered on the 2nd of November 2009 under the names of John Saldivar and Khalid Belisle.
Then on the 4th of June, 2010, it business was transferred from John Saldivar and Khalid Belisle to only John B Saldivar.
Then in June on the 26th of August, two months after, the business was transferred again, this time from John Saldivar to Darlene Saldivar, his wife.
Saldivar’s wife is now the sole owner of Mytheon Solutions- at least on paper. We wanted to know more of this company so we attempted to visit its principal place of business. The business is listed in the registration form as being situated at “St. Vincent Street Extension, Belmopan City, Belize” .
Our crew finally located St. Vincent Street, which, at most points, happens to be in complete bush on either side of the road;
However, we could not find a trace of the street referred to as St. Vincent Street Extension.
We took this matter to the Belmopan City Council to help us locate the said street extension; but not even they had any record of such a street name St. Vincent Street Extension, Belmopan City, Belize, is none existent!
So where then does Mytheon Solutions operate from? We took one last effort to find if there any records at all of the established business and so we turned to trade license tax collection which the Belmopan City Council oversees. However, we were unable to speak to anyone in authority to provide us that information and were told to send an email addressed to the Belmopan City Administrator, who happens to be Hon. Saldivar’s sister, Angela Wade.
We did so and, up to the time of this newscast, have not heard back from them since. We hope to have that information for you at a later date.
