A woman from Benque Viejo Town was stabbed to death earlier this evening. According to police some minutes before 3 pm this evening, Keisha Buller, 25 year old Belizean Customs Officer of George Street Benque Viejo Town, was at home when she reportedly got into a domestic dispute with her common law husband which lead to her stabbing death. Superintendent Daniel Arzu, Officer Commanding Benque Viejo Police Station told us more.
Daniel Arzu, Superintendent of Police, Officer Commanding Benque Viejo Police Station – “Upon the police arrival, they observed a female lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to her neck and body. She was rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital and upon arrival she succumbed to her injuries. The report is that, just before three this afternoon, the deceased’s common-law-husband engaged in a domestic dispute with her and as a result, he inflicted those injuries to the neck and body whereby she met her death as a result of it. There was a witness in the person of her grandmother who witnessed the entire ordeal and the police are investigating at this point in time. The suspect, which is her common-law-husband fled the area and was captured while heading to go to Belize City, in particular, Central Farm area so he is now in our custody and we are investigating. But we pretty much, it’s a straightforward case, so we don’t think we should have any challenges.”
Benque Viejo Police expect to lay charges on the common law husband sometime soon.
