Yhony Rosado taken to court by Social Security

Remember Econo Tires shop? Three weeks ago we reported that owner Yhony Rosado Sr.’s issues with the Belize City Council over granting trade licenses had just been resolved, allowing him to operate. Now it is apparently the Social Security Board’s turn, as Rosado is accused of failing to keep a register with particulars in respect of each person employed by him at Econo Tires, located on the Philip Goldson Highway. Picked up on the strength of a bench warrant, Rosado was escorted to court by police officer Ian Geban, though not in handcuffs. He was also charged with one count of failing to produce records for the period of January 2015 to January 2016 for inspection when called upon to do so by inspector Ruben Oliva. Appearing before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza, Rosado pleaded not guilty to both charges. His case was adjourned for March 9, by which time he should be given disclosure.
